Your size would depend on the type of stocking you are attempting to purchase. This means every stocking has it's own unique sizing chart and could either be determined by your ankle circumference, calf circumference, calf length, thigh circumference, etc. Some of the lower compression stockings (8-15mmHg;15-20mmHg) can also be determined by shoe size. Every item should have it's sizing chart right above where you can select your size. Please see below for an example of where you can find it.
